First Holy Communion 2016

The First Communion will begin on Sunday November 15th, and will conclude with teh First Communion Mass on Sunday June 12th. The classes take place on Sunday at 10:30am, and finish at 11:15am in order to be ready for Sunday Mass.

This course is open for those children , who will aged seven, by the summer, and who either attend Mass (with their family) and who live within the physical boundaries of the Parish. The Parish does not accept children who do not live in the parish and have no faith relationship with the Parish community.

Please note the First Communion Course requires at least one parent to attend Mass with their child throughout the duration of the course. All lessons are compulsory as is attendance at Mass afterwards.

Confirmation 2016

The classes for Confirmation will start after Easter 2016 and the sacrament will be administered sometime in June 2016. Attendance at Mass is expected for those preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation.


Baptism Preparation 2015-2016

Every parent who wishes to have their child baptised must attend an evening meeting to discuss the meaning and responsibilities of Baptism. The talks will last from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm and will be held at St Mary Moorfields Presbytery, 4-5 Eldon Street, London EC2M 7LS (located between Moorgate and Liverpool Street. Future dates include: Wednesday 23rd September and wednesday 3rd November. Further dates to added later.


Marriage Preparation 2015-2016

St Mary Moorfields holds regular marriage days for the essential task of spiritual and human preparation for marriage. There courses are for those couples who wish to be married either at St Joseph’s, St Mary Moorfields or elsewhere in Great Britain or abroad. Attendance at the one marriage day is compulsory for those who wish to be prepared through this Church.

If you wish to be married at St Joseph’s, please contact the Church to arrange an initial meeting to discuss dates and to begin the necessary paperwork. The Catholic Church requires six months’ notice prior to the date of the wedding.

The next available course will take place on Saturday November 7th 2015. Each course begins at 9:45am with registration and finishes at 4.00 pm. The cost is £70 per couple (which includes lunch) payable on the day itself either in cash or by debit card. The dates for 2016 are as follows: Saturday February 13th; Saturday 12th March; Saturday 23rd April; Saturday 7th May; Saturday 18th June; Saturday 16th July.


Adult Baptism, Confirmation and Reception into the Church 2015-2016

A special course is run from St Mary Moorfields aimed at those adults who wish to be Baptised, Confirmed or Received into the Church. This course is ideal for those preparing for marriage and who were not confirmed as teenagers. Every Catholic who wishes to marry abroad, including Ireland, has to be confirmed. The next course begins on Monday 28th September and finishes with Confirmation on Sunday 14th February 2016. A further course will begin in March concluding some time in June 2016
